[v0.3] Powerful relics + Bug fixes


Hey everyone, thank you all so much for the amazing feedback and support!

First of all, let’s get elephant out of the room: this is a final update/patch for THIS particular prototype. As you all might know, this game was something I made in just a few days to test out an idea I had - and for what it is worth: this prototype did exactly that!

Somewhere down the line (can’t promise exactly when due to my variable amount of free time) I will be doing postmortem game design post outlining everything I’ve learned and what I will be taking into the next game based on this prototype. Yes, it is on it’s way (veeeeery slowly but surely, but can’t say anything concrete due to reasons already mentioned)!

This update also includes windows build, in case you prefer to run your games locally (although keep in mind that provided app IS NOT signed, and your operating system might complain about it) and few bug fixes and a feature that should add a bit more variety to your next play-through:

Features:

  • Added Powerful Relics to Endless mode. At the start of the endless run, you can choose a powerful relic that skews things in your favor when used right and can change how you play the run.

Bug fixes:

  • Fixed issue where healing as a part of leveling up would count towards run stats
  • Fixed edge case scenario where enemy would spam heal

Balance changes:

  • I had to rework some systems behind the scene to implement relics, and as a result difficult curve at the beginning is not so steep anymore, so if you found previous version difficult it might be great time to give the game another chance

TLDR: As a result of all these changes stats at the end of the run are more accurate, game is slightly easier at the start and endless mode is more fun.

endless mode is interesting, however I feel like the relics are not as powerful as they could be. I think that instead of "1 per run" it would be interesting if they were given out every ~10 floors, to make using them more fun and interesting. Most of the other suggestions are things that I've already talked about, so I won't repeat myself. Still looking forward for future updates!
